Each coaster contains lead-free paint. The tiles are made from a dense and durable ceramic, kiln fired with a protective glaze. All coasters are packaged as 4-piece sets; individual coasters are fitted with cork padding on bottom. Safe for high heat/kitchen use.

Each ceramic trivet/coaster goes through a double-high kiln-fire process.
The 1st bake allows the raw clay to cure and harden before individual tiles are hand-painted with lead-free glass compound natural paint.
The 2nd bake is done in a high-fire kiln with a glass compound protective glaze finish. This bake occurs in a high-fire gas powered kiln for several hours where temperatures reach 1800˚F. The intense heat creates a reaction where the glass compounds transform into a glossy protective glaze coat. Hand painted on all sides except the bottom.
Because tiles & coasters are individually hand-painted each piece will vary slightly from the next. These artisanal qualities impart authentic personality and wholly unique presence.
