Not your typical glass hurricane. These towering and colorful glass candle holders are hand blown from recycled glass. The quality and authenticity of these candle carrying hurricanes are evident from the thickness of the glass to the richness and balance of color. Design Highlights...

Naturally wavy pattern throughout glass achieved only by quality mouth-blown and molded glass with sleek flared opening with dimples to float steel candle tray. Each hurricane includes a floating tray (4" 1/2 diameter)crafted from galvanized steel that has a burnt charcoal finish.

The glass is very thick and is suitable for outdoor use, do not leave a burning candle unattended. The steel tray rests on 4 glass dimples perfectly positioned at the midpoint of the glass hurricane. Available in 3 colors Aqua, Amber, and Clear. These glass candeleros are another of our sustainable creations as each is hand blown and molded from recycled glass.

In the city of Tonala in Central Mexico, we design and develop all of our glassware and art with talented artisans. Always fair-trade..

The artisans blow recycled glass that was collected from local recycling yards. Mounds of discarded bottles are delivered by the truck-load to our studios, the glass is then sorted, crushed, and heated in large kilns where temperatures reach up to 1500*F. Once molten hot glass is of proper consistency, it is then blown into a mold the colored dye is added during the blowing process while the glass is molten hot.
