Internal- Both lid and vessel are kiln fired with protective glossy glaze made from natural elements. This layer protects ceramic from leaking and what ever you place within.

External- Each container features an intricately free hand-painted in the Lirio pattern that wraps the entire outer surface of the base. The matching pattern continues around the edge of the lid with the colorful and elegant colibrí / hummingbird free hand painted on the lid. The stoneware is twice baked in a high-fire kiln at temperatures reaching 1700˚F. This first bake transforming raw clay down to a molecular level the high heat and curing process forces out tiny air pockets condensing the material so that it is literally as hard as a rock, hence the name "stoneware". The baked stoneware has a wonderful natural vanilla color with a soft matte finish.
