An Environmentally Sustainable Fabrication Process Utilizing Only Earthen sediment and other Material.
This pot was hand molded and shaped from a specific compound of raw clay. The raw earthen compound is mixed with water until proper consistency. The clay is then cast into large molds. These molds help provide the shape of the pot. Ceramicist then remove from the molds and finish the shaping and sculpting by hand. Once of proper shape and durability the raw earthen vessels are loaded into a large kiln. Kilns are heated naturally by wood and brush. Large to mid-size terracotta pots are heated and cured one piece at a time for 24 to 48hours; depending on the size of the vessel, the temperature of the kiln which varies between 300˚F-600˚F, and other variables. This sustainable artisanal technique has been practiced by indigenous ceramicist of Mexico for several generations.

Short Node planter has 2"thick terracotta walls; tapping the surface you can hear the reverberating concrete like density.
