Talavera patterns stream across a thick ceramic base. Each figure is hand-molded and painted with incredible detail, celebrating the brilliance which is the last studio album recorded, cleverly infused with vibrant artistry of Talavera and inspired by Dia de los Muertos culture.

How It's Made

The Artisan Process
This unique limited edition ceramic sculpture is hand molded and sculpted from raw clay. The ceramic sculpture goes through a double firing process. The first bake allows the raw molded clay to cure and harden. The harden clay sculpture is inspected for impurities then each sculpture is individually hand-painted with lead-free natural paint by a small team of talented Talavera and Majolica artisans. A glossy protective glaze coat is applied before heading back into the oven. The second bake is done in a high-fire kiln with temperatures reaching 1700˚F. The protective glaze and finish allows for Indoor or outdoor display. This detailed and complex artisanal process requires a small team of craftspeople and artisans who make a living wage for their trained skills and talents. durable finish safe for outdoor display. *No two Beatles Crossing Over sculptures will ever be exactly the same, variations will occur in the ceramic and in the hand-painted patterns.

Talavera style is a popular Mexican style used by crafters from Puebla, Tlaxcala, Atlixco, Cholula, and Tecali. The indicator colors of this Mexican style are typically blue and white, but artisans have added yellow, black, green, orange, and mauve to the style color palette. The color palette is made with natural pigments to get the right shades for the pottery.

This limited edition work of art transcends culture, art, and music. Inspired by the traditions celebrated during Day of the Dead / Dia de Los Muertos, influenced by our collective love for the Beatles, and created with the old-world artisan techniques of Talavera and Majolica artistry.
