Description

The Queen pendant light has an ornate handmade iron cage. The elegant design has a touch of Castilian inspiration. The largest pendant in our Mediterra Lighting Collection the design aesthetics compliments a wide rage of home-decor motifs and decor styles. This edition of the Queen exhibits a the salient Blue blown glass shade is surrounded by an iron cage with a durable Oxidized Rust finish safe for outdoor use and display.

This pendant light and all Mediterra Pendant lights are hand crafted using sustainable manufacturing practices, handblown glass is sourced from recycled glass bottles.♻︎

How It's Made

Our talented blacksmiths heat, hammer, and weld each iron bar into place this tedious and technical process forms beautifully ornate iron cage, also allows for the right amount of light to pass through, casting subtle decorative reflections on the surrounding walls and ceiling. After the cage is completed it is then taken to the glass blowing area of our artisan studio where Recycled glass bottles are collected, cleaned crushed / processed then heated in large kilns reaching 1700˚degrees, the molten hot glass is hand blown into the iron cage. This specific glass blowing technique allows the expanding molten hot glass to protrude past the iron bars creating an authentic bulbous quality. We are proud to design and create functionally artistic pendant lighting using sustainable practices.

Artisan Story

Artistic lighting constructed through a union of master ironwork & artisan glass blowing.

The complex process requires weeks, involves multiple artisan studios, with each fábrica working in specific artisanal mediums to engineer just one pendant. Beginning at the artisanal iron working studio, lead by master welder and blacksmith Alejandro Rodriguez. The Rodruigez family work in unison to heat, hammer, and weld each steel bar in place. This technical process calls for a little math and geometry to construct the cavernous and ornate steel cages in which the glass shade will be housed. Once individual steel cages are complete they advance on to the glass blowing studio where molten glass is hand blown into the iron cage. This specific free-form glass blowing technique allows the expanding molten hot glass to protrude out past the iron bars creating an authentic bulbous quality.

    I need to find another project so I can work with Zenwaro again!

    Ordered several pendants from zenwaro. What a delight! I am a full-time nurse in newborn ICU, in my free-time I let my creative side run free with design projects in my home. Any one who takes on electrical and lighting renovations knows that friction is around every corner. Not with zenwaro. Clayton it was truly a pleasure to work with you and your team! It is so unusual to have this level of customer service these days!  Each Blue Queen arrived safely and they are BEAUTIFUL. We just got Miss Blue Queen(the center piece of my outdoor lighting arrangement up and she looks amazing! I do not leave many reviews but I am a true believer that hard work/workers should know when their efforts are appreciated.  We appreciate all the personalized attention and work your team has given!

    Project complete my beautiful lights from Zenwaro are the center if attention!

    What a remarkable company! We've had the blessing to build our dream house. This project would not have been possible w/out businesses like Zenwaro helping me through the whole process! I purchased several beautiful pieces from Zenwaro. The x3 custom pendant lights for the kitchen, several cobalt decanter hearts 💙 and starlights for the wine bar. I couldn’t be happier, get so many compliments on my lighting. Just as lovely is their customer service and communication is thorough, their packaging is phenomenal. Y’all did a fantastic job!
