A Sacred Heart wood carving that will make a wonderful impression of culture and authenticity on your walls. The Sanctuary Milagros Heart has an old-world yet whimsical design and presence. Each heart is hand carved from Avocado wood, and equipped to hang on the wall. The vintage-style angel wings are hand-tooled from tin and brushed with a dark espresso varnish. You can bend / re-shape the tin wings to your liking which adds personalized touch to this already unique artifact. The Sanctuary Heart has a design that is inspired by the Segrado Corazon(Sacred Heart) and other vintage era folk art from Mexico. The center of the heart is painted with a rich red, that is surrounded with a border of gold enamel.

About the miracle charms called Milagros.

The english word literally meaning “Miracle”, these small charm are thought to have originated with the ancient Iberians who inhabited the coastal regions of Spain 2000 - 3000 B.C.. These mini metal medallions are made in endless shapes and sizes, each figure has a different meaning. For century’s though-out Latin America people of faith have used Milagros as votive offerings to mend or heal one's ailments or pray for "assistance" with other difficulties in their daily lives.
