J. Lennon | Hand Sculpted Catrina

Inspired by the impact that John Lennon made to music, culture, and the peace movement during the 1870's. This J. Lennon original catrina sculpture was designed by San Miguel Trading and handmade by M. Perez. The artist expressed his great ability to accent the life like details from the creases on the black denim pants to the pockets of his jacket. This is an original work art that celebrates the traditions of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

J. Lennon is hand sculpted from raw clay. After several hours of sculpting and shaping the catrina the soft clay sculpture is then placed in a large traditional red brick oven and kiln fired for several hours. Once fired the sculpture is hand painted muted and life like colors that compliment the character of John Lennon's look and style.
