How It's Made
An Environmentally Sustainable Fabrication Process Utilizing Only Terra Material.
This pot was hand molded and shaped from a specific compound of raw clay. The raw earthen compound is mixed with water until proper consistency. The clay is then cast into large molds. These molds help provide the shape of the pot. Ceramicist then remove from the molds and finish the shaping and sculpting by hand. Once of proper shape and durability the raw earthen vessels are loaded into a large kiln. Kilns are heated naturally by wood and brush. Large to mid-size terracotta pots are heated and cured one piece at a time for 24 to 48hours; depending on the size of the vessel, the temperature of the kiln which varies between 300˚F-600˚F, and other variables. This sustainable artisanal technique has been practiced by indigenous ceramicist of Mexico for several generations.

Artisan Story
MUNDO. About This Artisan-Made Sculptural Terracotta Vessel
A work of art with magnificent utility. Worthy of sprouting your next palm, succulent, or fruiting tree.
This terracotta pot is a union of Mexican indigenous culture and Mexican artistry. The coarse terracotta surface is hand-painted and finished with dark charcoal tone and a distinct collection of colors. The multi-layered finish begins at the rim with a dark matte ebony and transitions to a heavy textured ash gray with hints of smokey taupe and greige. This artisanal technique was developed within our Mundo ceramic studio. The complex finish is applied by skilled artisans, much like original art the color scheme will vary with each pot. Safe for outdoor display *under cover or canopy. Product media is not digitally enhanced, color and finish variation is as presented in product photos and video.
