Description

The Pera pendant encompasses a stunning voluptuous yet natural shape that will illuminate your indoor or outdoor arrangement and enhance the aesthetics of your environment. The Pear shaped design is created through a union of master iron work and artisan glass blowing, included with every Pera Pendant are high-quality CSE / UL electrical components along with decorative mounting hardware necessary to genuinely compliment your decor.  Given the type of build used this pendant emits a good amount of illumination in all directions, with a focused beam of light through the open basin. Currently available in Amber or Green glass, customs colors and iron finishes available by contacting us.

This pendant light and all Mediterra Pendant lights are hand crafted using sustainable manufacturing practices, handblown glass is sourced from recycled glass bottles.♻︎

  • 1 Black glazed porcelain medium base E26 electrical socket. Power source: 660watt Max.-250volt Max. allow for strong incandescent & halogen bulbs or energy efficient LED bulb.
  • 1  UL/CSA certified electrical cable 36"in length; 16 gauge(thickness), Brown PVC jacket.

*Bulb not included. *Consult a certified electrician for proper and safe installation.

Mounting hardware kit. Hand finished best in class decorative hardware included with each pendant.

  • x1 Flat brick solid steel chain 32"in length in matching finish.
  • x1 Solid brass loop with wireway, antique bronze finish
  • x1 Threaded downrod 6”long, Industrial Steel finish - 1/8ips. Conceals & protects wiring and mounts E-26 socket just above center point in pendant.
  • x2 Heavy Duty Hex Head Nuts Solid Brass, 3/16”in. - 1/8ips.

How It's Made

The beautiful flowing Pear shape design of this pendant has taken countless hours to perfect. Our talented blacksmiths heat, hammer, and weld each iron bar into place this tedious process forms the iron cage. After the cage is completed artisan glass blowers mouth blow molten hot glass into the iron cage. This specific glass blowing technique allows the expanding molten hot glass to protrude past the iron bars creating an authentic bulbous quality. We designed the Pera pendant along with our team of artisans to have a natural and organic presence while giving off just the right amount of light. The base of the pendant is completely open, allowing the light to pass through casting a spot light below.

Artisan Story

Artistic lighting constructed through a union of master ironwork & artisan glass blowing.

The complex process requires weeks, involves multiple artisan studios, with each fábrica working in specific artisanal mediums to engineer just one pendant. Beginning at the artisanal iron working studio, lead by master welder and blacksmith Alejandro Rodriguez. The Rodruigez family work in unison to heat, hammer, and weld each steel bar in place. This technical process calls for a little math and geometry to construct the cavernous and ornate steel cages in which the glass shade will be housed. Once individual steel cages are complete they advance on to the glass blowing studio where molten glass is hand blown into the iron cage. This specific free-form glass blowing technique allows the expanding molten hot glass to protrude out past the iron bars creating an authentic bulbous quality.

    BEYOND FABULOUS

    I just received three pendant lights and they are far beyond expectation. The craftsmanship and quality is very high end. I’m so thrilled with my purchase and will be buying more.
